Happy New Year

Ok, it is New Year's Day and it has been way too long since I have posted on this blog.

I am officially posting my resolution to post more regularly in 2008! I'm not big on making New Year's resolutions because it is so easy to fail. We think that by saying we will begin something on a special day like this day, the first day of a new year, that it will be easy to make it happen. We are good for a few days, maybe even a few weeks, but nothing has really changed except the numbers on the calendar. It is so much better to make these changes when we are emotionally, physically and spiritually ready to make them.

Well, as it turns out, for the past few months I have been taking a class in creative writing. The class has given me confidence and inspiration. I have also been chosen to write for a devotional book that is published quarterly. It seems as though my life is going in the direction of a writer. This blog, along with A WORD FOR TODAY and MIDWEEK OASIS, will give me an excellent outlet for all this writing. It is a place I can write something other than the devotional work that has been my focus for so long.

I hope you'll return often. I still have so many stories to tell from San Diego and from our life here in Texas. I even have some stories that have nothing to do with reality except the creative reality of fiction.
